Over 20 years of waterproofing experience across Cairns and Far North Queensland — residential, commercial and industrial.
A1 Tile Injection & Waterproofing has been operating in Far North Queensland since 2005. Over that time we've worked on everything from single bathroom tile repairs through to large-scale commercial waterproofing systems for strata buildings, car parks and industrial facilities across the Cairns region.
Our focus has always been the same: identify the actual problem, recommend the correct solution, and do the work properly. That sounds straightforward, but in an industry where shortcuts are common and misdiagnosis is expensive for the client, it's what sets us apart.
We specialise in tile injection and waterproofing systems because they require technical knowledge that not every builder or tiler has. Getting it wrong is costly. Getting it right the first time is what we've built our reputation on.
We work across the full range — residential homeowners, body corporates, commercial property managers, builders and facility managers. If it involves water getting into a building where it shouldn't be, or tiles that need to be fixed without tearing everything up, we've done it.
Queensland's tropical climate is hard on buildings in ways that southern contractors don't always appreciate. Working here for over 20 years means we understand what causes problems in this specific environment.
Far North Queensland's wet season delivers rainfall volumes that overwhelm poorly installed or aged waterproofing systems. A membrane that holds up fine in Brisbane may fail here within a few seasons.
The UV intensity in Far North Queensland degrades sealants, grout and membrane materials faster than anywhere else in Australia. Outdoor tiles, balconies and roofs need materials rated for tropical UV exposure.
Sustained high humidity accelerates the breakdown of tile adhesives and allows moisture to infiltrate through micro-cracks in grout lines. Older tile installations across FNQ are particularly vulnerable.
Most waterproofing problems have an underlying cause — not just a symptom. A drummy tile is a symptom. The cause might be a failed adhesive, a waterproofing membrane leak, structural movement, or something else entirely. We find the cause. Treating the symptom without addressing the cause means the problem comes back.
We specialise in injection and waterproofing systems because that's where the technical knowledge matters most. If injection is the right solution, we'll do it properly. If it's not the right solution, we'll tell you — and recommend what is. We'd rather lose a small job than leave you with a failed repair.
We understand that not every repair can shut down a building, move a tenant, or clear a bathroom for a week. Injection techniques are designed specifically to minimise disruption. We work around your schedule and your occupants wherever possible.
If we do the work and the problem returns through our fault, we come back and fix it. That's not a formal warranty document — it's just how we operate. After 20 years in the same region, our reputation is built on repeat business and referrals. That only happens if the work holds up.
